If your nipple sits above or at the level of the breast fold, augmentation alone can achieve the result you want. If your nipple sits below the fold, a lift is required to restore position before or alongside augmentation. Most patients return to desk work within ten to fourteen days after breast augmentation or reduction. Physical activity and lifting are restricted for four to six weeks. Full healing, including scar maturation, takes six to twelve months. Dr. Bharathi provides a written recovery protocol to each patient before discharge.

Breast reduction and lift results are long-lasting but can be affected by significant weight change or pregnancy after the procedure. Augmentation results depend on implant type and body changes over time. Fat fill results are partially permanent, with approximately 60 to 70 percent of transferred fat surviving long term.
