Face Fat Fill

Face fat fill or lipofilling/fat grafting is a procedure in which ones own fat is used to restore volume, correct asymmetry, fill creases and pitted scars.

Indications for fat fill

  • Adding volume
  • Sunken cheeks
  • Under eye hollowness
  • Effacing prominent nasolabial folds(lines running from the sides of the nose to corner of mouth)
  • Enhancement of thin lips
  • Correcting pitted scars
  • Smoothening irregularities


Fat aspiration is done from tummy or thighs by liposuction. Aspirated fat is then processed and injected into the desired areas.

Duration: Usually takes 45-60 minutes

Type of Anesthesia

It is usually done under local anesthesia if it’s a small region, general anesthesia if larger areas are addressed in a single sitting.

Possible Side Effects

  • Swelling
  • Bruising
  • Tenderness
  • Asymmetry/ irregularity
  • Overcorrection
  • Infection
  • Swelling, bruising in the donor area.
