It is modality of treatment in which a chemical solution is applied to the skin, causing a blister and it eventually peels off. The new skin looks more rejuvenated and smoother than the old skin.

Procedure
It is done as an office procedure. The desired area is first cleaned with an alcohol swab. The chemical peel to be used is chosen according to the skin type and depth required, lactic acid, glycolic, salicylic acid and tca are some of the commonly used ones.
Post Procedure
Post chemical peel, reaction similar to sunburn occurs leading to redness followed by scaling ending in peeling of skin. It is important to follow the post treatment instructions meticulously and avoid sun exposure.
